Nairobi National Park
Nairobi National Park is a unique ecosystem by being the only protected area in the world close to a capital city. The park is located only 7 km from Nairobi city centre. The savannah ecosystem comprise of different vegetation types. Open grass plains with scattered acacia bush are predominant. The western side has a highland dry forest and a permanent river with a riverine forest. To the south are the Athi-Kapiti Plains and Kitengela migration corridor which are important wildlife dispersal areas during the rain season. Man-made dams within the park have added a further habitat, favourable to certain species of birds and other aquatic biome.

The giraffe center is a wonderful and refreshing experience undertaken during AfricanMecca's Out Of Africa excursion starting in Nairobi. The tour gives a completely up close and personal interaction where guests have the opportunity to view giraffes as well as feed them.

Baby Elephant Orphanage (David Sheldrick Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Animal Orphanage (Tour Duration: 2

Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage, located in a secluded area of the Nairobi National Park, where orphaned baby elephants amongst other animals are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists. The orphanage is run by Daphne Sheldrick, the wife of the late famous Naturalist, David William Sheldrick who was the founder Warden of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya from its inception in 1948 to 1976.
At 1100 Hours, the baby animals are brought from the National Park for a mud-bath at the orphanage, where for an hour you can get close to them and sometimes touch them. You may not feed the animals but will get a chance to view the handlers feeding them. The private session at 3.00pm allows you to touch the animals and feed them. This requires advance booking through African Spice Safaris.
Karen Blixen
Karen Blixen Camp in the Masai
Mara offers an authentic ’yesteryear’ experience for visitors wishing to
gain that little extra from their safari Set on the bank of the Mara River, the location is
spectacular. Throughout the day elephants, giraffes, zebras and
impalas come for a drink while a large hippo pod rest lazily in
the river.
The Camp gives a feeling of the early 1920’s era with beautiful and comfortable furniture. You will find that Karen Blixen Camp is a step back in time with the luxury of today.

Bomas
of Kenya was started by the Government of Kenya in 1971 as
wholly owned subsidiary of the Kenya Tourist Development
Cooperation (KTDC) the Company was established to Preserve,
Maintain and Promote the Rich Diverse cultural values of various
ethnic groups of Kenya and to act as a tourist attraction centre
thus Bomas of Kenya is expected to preserve the authenticity of
the Kenya’s Cultural values and to portray them in the pure
form. At the Bomas of Kenya currently we have fourty seven (47)
different traditional dances collected from different tribes of
Kenya.
Nairobi Museum
The
National Museums of Kenya (NMK) is a state corporation
established by an Act of Parliament, the National Museums
and Heritage Act, 2006 no. 6 of 2006. NMK is a
multi-disciplinary institution whose role is to collect,
preserve, study, document and present Kenya’s past and
present cultural and natural heritage. This is for the
purposes of enhancing knowledge, appreciation, respect and
sustainable utilization of these resources for the benefit
of Kenya and the world, for now and posterity

Former US Embassy Bomb blast
It
was August 7, 1998. Suicide bombers exploded 700 kilos of TNT in a
truck outside of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. The bomb blast
ended the lives of 257 people, injured 6,000, and destroyed a
fragile peace in a bustling city. At the same time, another
explosion rocked the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A
little-known terrorist network named al Qaeda organized the attacks,
led by Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden.
